Police Defuse Explosive Charge in Residential Building
| Police defused Tuesday an explosive charge attached to a timer in east Beirut’s district of Mkaless. Security sources told Naharnet the charge is made up of nine sticks of dynamite attached to a timing device and a detonator, but lacking a nine-volt battery to set it on. One source, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that “had the battery been installed, the charge was set to explode in exactly five minutes.” The explosive charge was discovered in the first floor of a residential building in Mkaless.
